Education is not complete when a student leaves school. It is complete when that student successfully transitions into productive adulthood.
Across West Africa, governments, communities, and development partners invest significant resources in expanding access to education. Yet many students receive little guidance when making decisions about further education, employment, entrepreneurship, or vocational training. As a result, years of learning do not always translate into meaningful opportunities.
Maximising the Return on EducationThe transition from school to adulthood is the last mile of education. It is also where some of the greatest gains can be achieved. Helping students make informed decisions is one of the most cost-effective ways to increase the impact of existing investments in education. When young people choose pathways that better match their interests, abilities, and opportunities, educational outcomes improve, human capital is strengthened, and societies benefit from a more productive workforce.
Our ApproachCaminor Foundation facilitates structured, data-driven career counselling in schools across West Africa. By supporting trained counsellors, locally adapted tools, and reliable data collection, we help students navigate the transition into adulthood while generating insights that support more effective education and employment policies.
